Born and still currently living in Nottingham, Rich is a self taught portrait artist who has always had a passion for painting and drawing. However it is only in recent years that he has pursued his love of painting commercially. Working primarily with oils on canvas and more recently with the addition of acrylics and spray paint, influences range from anime to urban portraiture and current expressive techniques. Generally working in larger formats above 28 x 36" Rich paints using a multi layered application with minimal large colourful brushstrokes to create a vibrant effect capturing the essence of the subject without the smaller detail and having a strong focus on the eyes. Despite the short space of time Rich has been on the art scene, his work has gained considerable reputation locally with private collectors and is now gaining the wider recognition he deserves.
