Marie Louise Wrightson
Marie Louise studied fine art at Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art in Dundee, gaining a BA(hons) and Masters in Fine Art in 2005. Marie’s painting’s can be found in St Andrews Museum, The Stirling Smith Museum and many private collections across the UK and overseas.
“Like many artist, Marie has been influenced and inspired by fairy tales, cartoons, comic book's, cult films and children’s books”. This amalgamation of popular culture has resulted in the wide range and eclectic mix of paintings Marie creates. From Pulp Fiction & Tank Girl to Alice in Wonderland, there is always a surprise in Marie's works.
Marie paints from her summer house studio, which has become a shrine to the great British seaside, her first love. Collected over many years, numerous seaside novelties which make there way into a variety of her paintings. Born in Lincolnshire but having lived in Scotland for the past twenty years, her painting is a way of life and continues to surprise and delight art lovers and collectors alike.
